We are constantly surrounded by nature. We have migrating hawks, songbirds, swallows, dragonflies, and butterflies moving across our dune. We often see a family of local foxes out on our path. From dawn to dusk, there's always something to see and hear.

Dolphins pass most days from early spring to late fall. We have seen two whales, a baby humpback and a pilot, from our deck. Ospreys and terns dive into the by out front. One day we were amazed to see a harbor seal crawl up on our beach. Gannets, arctic ducks, and cormorants fly by in huge flocks during the spring and fall migrations. We often have fly-overs by brown pelicans and swans.

In the spring, the horseshoe crabs come, and their eggs bring in lines of birds at the water's edge.

In the winter, the bay often ices over, providing an amazing view.

Some mornings the light of the full moon bathes our bedroom with a magic glow.

One winter week, we were treated to a show of Aurora Borealis.
